Brief note on the review meeting of Accredited Institutions (2008-09)
The Review Meeting of the Accredited Institutions of NFCG was held on April 12, 2008 at InterContinental Hotel the Grand, Mumbai.
The review meeting was attended by the following representatives of the Accredited Institutions (including representatives of two adhoc Accredited Institutions):-
- Prof. Mubeen Rafat - Administrative Staff College of India, Hyderabad
- Prof. Ashok Banerjee - Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta
- Prof C V Baxi - Management Development Institute, Gurgaon
- Prof. Pravin Kumar - Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies, Pune
- Prof. MPP Pillai - National law School of India, Bangalore
- Prof. Jiban Mukhopadhyay - SP Jain Institute of Management & Research, Mumbai
- Dr. C R Chavan - Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai
- Dr. John Alexander SDB, Loyola Institute of Business Administration, Chennai
- Prof. N Venkateshwaran, - Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad
In addition, Prof. Indrajit Dubey of Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur and Mr. Virendra Jain of Midas Touch Investors Association, New Delhi also participated in the meeting.
The representatives of Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore; NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad; Institute of Business Studies, Hyderabad; University Business School, Punjab; and Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow, could not attend this meeting due to prior engagement.
The Core Group members i.e. Mr. Manoj Kr. Arora, Mr. Vijay Kapur, Mr. Balwant Kulkurni and Mr. Rajesh Menon, also attended the meeting.
The meeting was presided over by Mr. Rajesh Menon.
Each of the Institutions made a brief power point presentation on the following:-
- Prof. Mubeen Rafat - Administrative Staff College of India, Hyderabad
- Prof. Ashok Banerjee - Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta, related to:-
- Seminar/ Conference/ Workshops
- Research work
- Orientation programme for Directors & Teacher (Faculty) training programme
- Declamation Contest, if any
The presentation was followed by intensive discussion session between the Core Group members and the representatives of the Institutions on their work plan for the year 2008-09.
The Accredited Institutions appreciated the initiative taken by the NFCG in organising this review meeting. The meeting provided good opportunity for interaction and network between the Core Group members and Accredited Institutions. Further the Accredited Institutions assured their commitment to work with NFCG towards promoting Corporate Governance in India.
The meeting concluded with Mr. Rajesh Menon thanking the Accredited Institutions for their participation at the meeting.
